POSE 2 Procedure

The POSE® procedure is a non-surgical technique for stomach reduction. The operation is performed by using an endoscope, so it does not require incisions and does not leave scars. It is a form of minimally invasive surgery, designed for patients who are obese needing to lose weight for health reasons.

When can I return to work?

Each person is different from the others and that of course depends on the profession. Most patients who are clerical can return to work the next day

Can the procedure be reversed?

No, it is not reversible.

Can this procedure be done if I have had previous bariatric surgery?

The POSE is only performed on patients who have never had a bariatric weight loss surgery.

Can this procedure be done if I have had previous Gastric band even if it is removed?

NO you cannot do Pose but, YES you can do Endomina Procedure.

Is it safe to get pregnant after this procedure?

It is not recommended before 18 months after any bariatric surgery.

Risks and Considerations

Patients should be aware that Pose procedure can cause temporary sore throat and nausea, it is very important to discuss this with your consultant right from the start, understanding and managing expectations whilst keeping in mind any possible associated risks.

POSE FOR WEIGHT LOSS

Primary Obesity Surgery Endoluminal, or POSE procedure, is an endoscopic incision-less weight loss procedure.

The aim of this procedure is to reduce the size of the stomach and helps to diminish hunger cravings.

It is a non -surgical weight loss endoscopic procedure which is performed by flexible endoscopy to go through the mouth and into the stomach to reduce the size of the stomach.

These gastric plication reduce the stomach’s ability to accommodate & stretch decrease the sensation of being hungry, reducing the urge to eat, Help your body recognize when you have had enough food, even after a small meal.

Suitable candidate for Pose:

  • POSE procedure is usually offered to patients seeking weight loss with a BMI (Body Mass Index) between 30 and 35.

  • Male or female ≥18 yrs. of age and < 55 yrs. of age

  • Patient has not been able to lose significant weight in the past with diet and exercise.

The vast majority of patients reported reduced hunger, earlier fullness or decreased capacity after having the Pose procedure.

Success of the procedure will rely on patient ability to recognize & respond to their body’s hunger & fullness signals.
